Carillon is a Tayana 48. She is 48 feet long, 14 feet wide and draws 6 feet. She is cutter-rigged and designed for short-handed bluewater sailing.  When racing she is equipped to sail with a crew of eight but will normally be handled by just two.

She was built in 1998 at the Ta-Yang Shipyard in Kaosiung, Taiwan to a design by Robert Perry and was the 50th of that hull type. Tayanas are hand built in the factory so can be totally customised within the restrictions of the supporting bulkheads so each Tayana is unique.

Carillon's armchairs can be converted to a sea-berth whilst on passage then back to armchairs for more comfort in port.

She stands up well to rough weather and at 25 - 30 knots it's just about time for the second reef.
